Ewok

The Ewok strain is named so because of its abundance of rusty-colored pistils throughout its dark green buds resembling the furry creatures from the forest moon of Endor in the Star Wars universe.
This balanced hybrid strain features solid THC content ranging from 19 to 23 percent. Its sweet and spicy aroma along with its well-rounded effects earned this strain the coveted Hybrid of the Year prize at Seattle’s High Times Cannabis Cup in 2013.

Lineage

Ewok buds were first bred by Alien Genetics resulting from a cross between Albert Walker and Tahoe Alien strains. Ewok’s Afghani and Kush genetics produced a high-yielding and frosty plant with pungent and musky notes.
Albert Walker has been popular since the 1980s and 90s due to its robust Afghani lineage. It features strong citrus and skunky notes, which are found in the Ewok strain. Tahoe Alien is a cross between Tahoe OG Kush and Alien Kush and has a stronger potency than Albert Walker and an earthier aroma also found in the Ewok strain.

Aroma

Ewok has the perfect mix of sweet and spicy notes ranging from fruity citrus to skunky diesel undertones. Customers have raved over Ewok’s pleasant citrus aroma reminiscent of tangerines, grapefruit, and lemon. Ewok also has a strong earthy and musky aroma with hints of skunk, mint, hash, and pine.

Ewok flower buds are long, dense, and hairy. Dark green bud leaves are shrouded by reddish-brown pistils, which makes them look like the furry bipeds in Star Wars. Amongst the pistils, you’ll see a thick layer of trichomes on its tightly-packed buds.

Effects

Ewok won’t produce out-of-this-world effects, but does provide a dependable and functional high in small doses. Users have reported feeling relaxed, creative, and focused after smoking or vaping Ewok flower buds. Ewok elicits a stimulating body high that produces sedation in higher doses. Users also smoke Ewok as a nightcap to induce sleep.
Ewok made its name in the Pacific Northwest, but has made its way to other major cannabis markets nearby. Don’t hesitate to get yourself some Ewok buds the next time you see them. Their hairy pistils make them hard to miss.
